hyssopleaf fleabane, Erigeron hyssopifolius

Ho, hum, another fleabane? Don't they all look a lot alike? It almost seems like this one felt the same way, so it did things a little differently. The flowers are what you would expect, but the leaves are much narrower than the usual ovals. The plants are small, hardly approaching a foot tall. Hyssopleaf was the gem at our third stop that day on the Botany Club foray. Never would have found that spot on our own! Hyssopleaf fleabane grows in fens and cedar swamps in ME(S), MI(T), NH, NY(E), VT, AB, MB, NB, NF, NS, NT, NU, ON, PE, QC, SK, and YT. Mackinac Co MI, 5/27/17. Aster family, Asteraceae.
