showy baby's-breath, Gypsophila elegans

Showy? The baby's breath we looked at day before yesterday had flowers about an eighth of an inch across. That's about the size of one petal here, so this gets to be show off. It's all relative. Relatively small, that is. Showy baby's-breath is less likely to show up in your flower arrangement, but more likely to be in your garden. In the wild, it is not as aggressive as that other one. Showy baby's breath has been recorded from AK, CA, CO, CT, ID, IL, KS, MA, ME, MI, MN, NC, ND, NH, NJ, NY, OR, PA, RI, UT, VA, VT, WI, WV, AB, LB, NF, ON, QC, SK, and YT. Ouray Co CO, 6/21/13. Pink family, Caryophyllaceae.
