Canada anemone, Anemone canadensis

Anemone or Anemonastrum? Here we go again again. When I looked up Canada anemone just now I discovered that it may have changed its name. Apparently Anemonastrum will be a more monophyletic arrangement for the genera. The tribes that used this as a panacea probably wouldn't worry about it, but these days it sometimes seems hard to keep up. Whatever it is, patches of these pretty inch-and-a-half flowers grow in CO, CT(E), IA, IL, IN, KS, KY(X), MA, MD(X), ME, MI, MN, MO, MT, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NY, OH, PA, SD, TN(T), VA, VT, WI, WV, WY, AB, BC, MB, NB, NS, NT, ON, PE, QC, and SK. Lenawee Co MI, 6/16/11. Buttercup family, Ranunculaceae.
