timothy, Phleum pratense

Timothy turns out to be kind of pretty.  But most grade schoolers don't know Timothy like I knew Timothy.  Timothy was my bully.  Timothy made my eyes run, and turn red, then itch.  My corneas turned into ugly gelatinous stuff.  I could tough it out, but Mrs. Shackleford couldn't and sent me home.  Walking with Timothy and just getting worse.  But I got even.  Timothy got cut up into little pieces and fed to my sister's hamster!  Or any other herbivore.  Timothy is European in origin, and now common around the world as one of the more useful fodder crops.  It grows in every state and province and on GL and SPM.  Wayne Co MI, 6/20/14.  Grass family, Poaceae.
