honeyvine, Cynanchum laeve

Honeyvine is a close relative of milkweeds.  This native makes a good garden addition to attract  monarch butterflies and feed their caterpilars.  It is of course a little toxic for the rest of us who don't have the ability to segregate those toxins so the birds don't eat us.  Honeyvine grows in AL, AR, DE, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, MO, MS, NC, NE, NY, OH, OK, PA(E), SC, TN, TX, VA, WV, and ON.  Cedar Bog Nature Preserve, Champaigne Co OH,  8/19/11.  Dogbane family, Apocynaceae.
