false rue-anemone, Enemion biternatum

False rue-anemone is a spring ephemeral, popping up in early spring, then gone with the season.  Most plants in the buttercup family are toxic, which correlates to use as herbal medicine.  But another correlation is that the plant be easily recognized.  This one seems to fail that test.  It looks too much like rue-anemone or wood anemone.  I have found no mention of its use.  False rue-anemone grows in woodlands in AL, AR, FL(E), IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, NY, OH, OK, SC, SD, TN, TX, VA, WI, WV, and ON(E).  Lenawee Co MI, 4/29/11.  Buttercup family, Ranunculaceae.
