dwarf chickweed, Cerastium pumilum

Dwarf, European or garden chickweed is dwarf among the dwarfs. It wouldn't be a surprise to see one flowering at less than an inch tall. Or it might get all the way up to six inches. There seems to be very little lore about this species, probably because of its size, but also because it looks so much like all the other chicks. We've mentioned that being easy to recognize and easy to find strongly correlate to medicinal use. They are probably factors in a plant interacting in any way with us. The sharp eyed among us have reported dwarf chickweed from AR, CT, GA, IL, IN, KS, KY, MA, MD, ME, MI, MO, MS, NC, NE, NJ, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, WA, WV, BC, NB, NS, and ON. Lenawee Co MI, 5/2/12. Pink family, Caryophyllaceae.
