bluehead gilia, Gilia capitata

Bluehead gilia is thankfully not uncommon in our gardens. That means it's possible to shoot it without being west of the divide! I suppose a more authentic wildflower site would stick to flowers shot in the wild. But I gave in to my greed long ago, and became a private preserve hunter. Bluehead or globe gilia is native to AZ, CA, ID, NM, OR, UT, and WY, and has escaped to the wild in AK, HI, IL, NY, OH, VT, and BC. Beal Gardens, MSU, 6/28/19. Phlox family, Polemoniaceae.
