cypressvine, Ipomoea quamoclit

Here's a different morning-glory! Cypressvine is in that genus, but presents a little differently. The flowers are shaped a little differently, and the leaves are very finely cut. Now that it has popped up as today's selection, I'm reminded to go buy some seeds. It will make a very excellent addition to the hummingbird area. Cypressvine is native to tropical America north into Mexico, and has now been spread to AL, CA, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, MO, NS, NC, NY, OK, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, and ON. It's also now in tropical areas around the globe. Beal Gardens MSU, 7/26/14. Bindweed family, Convolvulaceae.
