Where's the parsley? That was the question the other day when the spaghetti sauce was coming together. For me it had also been a decade long question. That long since I had seen any blooming. So this year when I saw a pot for sale at the nursery, I seized. But then this was the result. Where are the white flowers. My decades old film image shows white flowers. Turns out those are the exception, and these greenish ones the rule. Parsley was originally from the Mediterranean region, migrating north and west and across to get here, just like so many of our families. The name is a combination of French and German, turned into something British, just like so many of us. Parsley has migrated to our wilds in AR, CA, CT, FL, GA, HI, IA, ID, KS, LA, MA, MD, MI, MS, MT, NC, NV, NY, OH, PA, RI, SC, TX, UT, WA, NF, and ON. Cultivated, Lenawee Co MI, 7/26/21. Celery family, Apiaceae.
