Texas bindweed, Convolvulus equitans

"The plant is really too small and inconspicuous to make much of an impact on the usual human mind." That was Jim Conrad in his Naturalist Newsletter. Usual human mind? I admit the bindweeds weren't the eye-catchers that had me pulling off the road. But I still thoroughly enjoyed them. Not only attractive, but fun to find a relatively innocent Convulvulus. The closely related common bindweed is one of our more stubborn weeds. Texas bindweed twines up whatever is near in AL, CA, CO, KS, LA, NE, NM, OK, TX, and UT. Travis Co TX, 4/17/22. Bindweed family, Convolvulaceae.
