The silverbell genus has been much discussed by botanists, with little settled. Apparently they don't even agree on the original specimen the plants were named from. These plants contribute to the confusion, with ones that are appear to be the same species growing as both shrubs, and trees up to 30 feet. Hopefully the chromosome crunchers will soon settle the question. Until then, my identification of the pictured flowers will be preliminary. Same goes for the gardens that grew them.
