American vetch was widely used for food by Indians.  The seeds, pods, and greens are edible.  It doesn't get much use in these more plentiful times.  Although the Mendocino would keep a small bunch of roots in their pockets to bring luck while gambling.  Might that be a modern application?

This plant is sometimes used in restoration plantings on roadsides or other disturbed sites.  That's a nice change from the usual aliens, like crown vetch or clovers.  Oops!  The cat!  Don't step on the keyb ffcc.v bdi   .v xdhlib
