The violet genus is a little loose with its affections.  We end up with a lot of hybrids.  The one shown here is probably a cross between common blue and northern bog violets.  It was growing among the latter.  Dog violets were in the area and could also be involved.  That would explain the pale flowers.  But with the fuzz on the peduncle, I have to think a nearby common blue was the pollen source.  It's called Viola x napae.
