Cranberry pudding

Pudding: 1 beaten egg, 1 heaping T. sugar, 1/2 c. molasses, 1/3 c. hot water, 1 1/2 c. flour, 2 T baking soda, 1/2 t salt, 2 c fresh cranberries

Sauce: 1 c cream, 1/2 lb butter, 1 c sugar, 1/4 t salt, 1 t vanilla

Combine all pudding ingredients.  Pour into mold and steam for one hour over simmering water, tightly covered.

In saucepan combine sauce ingredients and heat til warm and blended.  

Serve warm slices, with sauce.

We used to use a mid-size coffee can as a mold.  Pudding was removed by cutting out remaining end of can and pushing.  The tart pudding and sweet sauce are a delight.
