We think of this as a weed; as something we would like to be rid of. Not everyone does. The greens are eaten in many places, and taste like somewhat bitter cabbage. The seeds are widely used as a condiment. And hedge mustard has long been used as medicine, often to treat poisoning. So the next time I get poisoned at bridge club, I know where to get my medicine.
You can see here how untidy hedge mustard can be. Its elusiveness hasn't been the only reason I didn't get an eye-pleasing image of it sooner.
