Henry Ford believed very strongly in tithing. Giving back one tenth for him was quite a lot. One of his tithes was an extensive farming project that provided work, homes and even schools for needy families. The northeastern part of Ives Preserve was once one of his farms. When this farm became part of the Preserve, it was mostly producing fields. Some of it is still farmed under contract. And some has been planted as prairie. Today's images are from that area. It would be a stretch to say that Mr. Ford is still giving, but he certainly played a role.
