Horse-nettle flowers are most often blue, but white is not unusual.  The berries are a terrific food for game birds like pheasant, grouse, quail, and turkey.  The berries feed many mammals.  But the plants are most unwelcome in pastures, where the toxic greenery is a serious problem.  It resists herbicide, so applications tend to leave horse-nettle and kill its competition.
