When people think of leaves that fold up, they usually think of Venus flytrap, or maybe mimosa. Not so in the Smith family, thanks to me. There was a silktree growing up the street where we lived in West Virginia. At the time I would have called it mimosa, as many do. This cub scout was collecting leaves, and mimosa proved to be a challenge. As hard as I tried, I couldn't pick one, run home, and press it in the phone book before it folded up. Kids need Moms! She simply said, "Why don't you take the book with you?" An early lesson in thinking outside my box.
