On the morning of this image, the meadowsweet was still covered with rain. The drops made the meadowsweet spikes look a little pink from a distance, as they magnified the red centers of the flowers. The Abnaki, Algonquin and Iroquois used meadowsweet for a variety of ailments. The hollow stems have been used as pipettes or for pipe stems.
