This cutie is one of the many mammals that graze arctic willow. The image is from the same day and location as the willow shot. Speaking of grazers, I was just interrupted to watch four turkeys work their way through our yard. First time I've seen them here in town. The long winter may be affecting them too. I really do wonder about the insulating effect of willow fuzz. Some other plants with wind-blown seeds only have fuzz on the female flowers. Those grow a lot closer to the ground, but just as far north as the willow.
