Spotted knapweed flower heads are an inch or more across. White flowers, or shades and combinations of white and pink are not unusual. Bee keepers appreciate the plant because it provides nectar from habitats that otherwise don't produce much. One of the plants that replaces knapweed is grass. But as grassy fields mature, floriferous herbs also become plentiful. Between nature and the crew's efforts, the formerly barren areas are now becoming covered with a healthy growth of grass and flowers.
