I should have climbed down to the bottom of the hill to let you get a good look at the marsh marigolds here. What a bad job advertising a really wonderful place! Ives Road Fen Preserve deserves better. This view is of an area that the volunteer work crew cleared of invasive buckthorn about 20 years ago. Yesterday, the marsh marigolds we're showing us their appreciation. So were the turkeys. The males were strutting. Ives is an amazingly different and varied habitat. There are few other places on the continent with this precise combination. Stop at the lot at Sutton Rd. and Raisin Center Hwy. and take a walk!
