An iris as a weed? To use a quote from among the political weeds, "You betcha!" The one shown here came from the same roadside as Anne's campion, on the same outing. I've seen German iris scattered here and there. Even on a thirty foot high ledge on a Colorado Rocky Mountain cliff. Probably carried there in the claws of an agile but not immediately hungry critter. I'm sure I saw many beautiful native flowers that day, but somehow it's the old friend iris I remember. So here's to friends, right by us like these beauties in our garden, along life's roadsides, on the net, or sometimes stuck up on a cliff. "Hey ain't it good to know you've got a friend", Sweet Baby James.
