Here's a little wider view of threelobe beggar ticks. They are not particularly showy, and won't do much to warn you of what's coming.
Yesterday morning was a good day at Ives Fen Preserve. The Preserve as drawn visitors from many places. Yesterday Yoshi was here from Japan. He is interested to invasive control. At home, he works on kudzu control. That vine is as much a problem at home in Japan as it is here. We may have learned more from him than he from us. He recommended digging down to the lateral roots when you're treating species that clone. By treating cut roots at that level, you better prevent new shoots, and can have more effect on other new shoots that are already growing. Thank you, Yoshi!
