Mare's tail complications

Things are complicated.  Plants are our lifeline.  They take that nasty carbon dioxide in and give out oxygen.  Then mare's-tail turns around and pollutes our air.  The roots reach the zone in water that lacks oxygen.  But it does have methane.  The roots provide channels for the methane to escape into free water and then the air.  The old can't live with it, can't live without it syndrome.
