Beach heath

Another shot at beach heath.  These shrubs are typically about six inches high.  The sand they frequent is nutrient poor.  So they associate with blue-green algae that fix nitrogen.  Beach heath is pretty stuff, but has found little use otherwise.  The Algonquian did use it to make a concoction to "purge the blood".  Not sure just how that might work?
