Golden glow

Today's tall coneflower has also made it's way into our gardens.  The 'double' form is most popular, and has now spread sparingly back to the wild.  In that form it's called golden glow.  Young tall coneflower leaves are a popular enough vegetable with Indians that they are still in use.  They're eaten boiled or fried, or dried or canned for use in later seasons.
