False indigo

This image does put more emphasis on strange than on pretty.  These shrubs can get up to 15 feet or so.  As an indigo, it is more false than effective.  The dye is weak.  Indians only used this as matting, since the branches are weak and flexible.  Kiowa occasionally used them for arrows, but they're too weak and light to be very effective.
