Field garlic

Here's the rest of the weedy story.  Those pretty purple flowers?  Mostly they don't happen.  Field garlic flower heads are converted to bulblets on most plants.  I had seen a lot of field garlic before I saw flowers on any.  Those bulblets are a very aggressive style of reproduction.  Get these in your garden and they will give you fits.  They resist herbicides.  In fields they taint the flavor of crops; in pastures they spoil the milk.  An altogether unpleasant plant.
