tufted bulrush, Trichophorum cespitosum

Different species from the wildflower page, but this will give you an idea what the flowers look like. No fluffy seed heads this day. But Dr. Reznicek was there again. Never pass on a field trip opportunity with him! This time I just kept my mouth shut. These are called deergrass in Britain, which kind of makes sense. To me, they don't look like bulrushes either. Tufted is another tundra and bog plant in CO, GA, ID, IL(E), ME, MI, MN, MT, NC, NH, NY(T), OR, SC, TN(E), UT, VT, WA, WI(T), WV, through Canada, and on GL and SPM.
