Here's a pistillate ament from the same population of crack willows. That's assuming they are that species. Recent studies have shuffled the names and descriptions of this group in the willow genus. Consequently, you will discover this is other species depending on which reference you use, and when it was published. If you google the species and look at images, each one will look quite different from the others. I often do that to see if my identifications seem to agree with the consensus. No help this time!
