This white water buttercup image is from the same outing as the greenstar sedge. It's in a new state park a little northeast of Goose Creek. I figured I owed a showy image after the sedge. The developing water milfoil spike in the lower left adds another note of interest. The growing effort to set aside preserves such as these two is amazing. On the other hand, the UN released a study today that says over a million species are threatened with extinction. In our hearts, we know that means over one in eight species on earth will soon be gone. Perhaps greenstar sedge won't be one of them. One small bite at a time, and who knows how many might be saved!
