Bogphrenia? Is bogging an abnormal psychologicl phenomena? I'm afraid it's beginning to be. Spending time in wetlands - bogs, fens, swamps, marshes - has historically been a common thing to do. How else to get cranberries, wild rice, or peat. But it's hard to drive cars and plows through them. Now they seem like an impediment to modern life. They are, of course, absolutely essential. Which is a good thing, because they're coming for us! In years ahead coastal marshes and flood zones are going to demand a lot more of our attention. So I suggest visiting a bog. Get comfortable with your future! Here we see the Huron Valley Chapter of the Michigan Botany Club doing just that. Exciting, but yes, maybe a little abnormal.
