Closeup again.

All that stuff about rosy pussytoes? I discovered it when figuring out this shot of Parlin's pussytoes. I could see this one was different, but didn't understand what I was getting. This is a clutch of male flowers of that species. Parlin's pussytoes still does it! And why are they not fuzzy? Because these flowers have no ovaries, and that is the part the fuzz is attached to, since it helps the seeds blow around. You can learn much up close. This is perhaps my favorite shot of discovery, lying on the ground, up close to something I saw along the road near home.
