Watching TV yesterday, and they did it again. Two people talking about lilacs blooming soon, to make the point that he needed something to brighten his days. So far, so good. But then you could notice a garden out the window behind them. Helped to set the scene. The most prominent feature was the angelica we saw here yesterday, a fun coincidence. The angelica was blooming, or maybe developing seed. But wait! That happens in the last half of the season, even in those fabulous English gardens, long after lilacs bloom. Were they blind to the plants, or just carelessly sloppy? Or confident that none of us would notice? I suspect the last.
