The next spot I visited that day in Ohio was Wilderness Preserve. It's an area of oak covered hills, with a remarkable open area of exposed sand. That spot supports a remarkable bunch of wildflowers. Slender mountain-mint is the first image from there. Virginia thimbleweed, an Anemone, was also in bloom. I saw these everywhere I went that day. It was by far the showiest display of that species I have seen. Here in Lenawee these flowers are smaller and greenish.
