Another walk through Ives Fen

Last Saturday was too beautiful to stay in, and where else would one want to walk than the fen at Ives in August. What is it about this year that makes everything seem more lush and collorful? Is it heightened perceptions from being cooped up so much? Or nature's response to less human intrusion? Or is it just a good year for growing things? All of the above? In any case it was a great walk, through an area visibly less visited than usual. The paths are less trampled, in some areas hard to follow. This wingstem was one of the first plants that compelled me to stop and shoot.
