Aster family pistils

We've already looked at how pistils can help attract pollinators, and how they lengthen and divide to help initiate contact.  But if all that doesn't work?  Well then, heck, just do it yourself!  In many species the divided tips of the pistils curve back toward the anthers.  They're reaching back to achieve self-pollination.  This palafox is a noted example.
