You're about to be shelled!

The blog part of my brain is coming back to life, but in a different world. So lets start with some Paul Harvey style drama. This is the aperture of a strawberry conch. The shell is about two inches long. Where I gathered shells, there were a lot like this, except not so colorful. If you picked one up, it might reach out with a thumb-like appendage that had a claw on the end. Couldn't do any damage, but it had to try. But witchy ugly enough to be an image that sticks in your brain for sixty years. And stay tuned for the rest of the story.
