On my recent trip I saw four gardens, each amazing in its own way. Jenkins Arboretum in Devon is mostly a woodland, with an outstanding collection of Rhododendron and many other floral attractions. Edgewood Gardens in Exton is a private collection that offers opportunities like no others to see mostly native plants, particularly Trillium. Longwood Gardens at Kennett Square is justifiably considered one of the world's great formal gardens. The sheer artistry of the setting and displays is boggling. West Virginia Botanical Gardens mostly offers a woodland setting, with a large area of hemlock and rhododendron forest. A great time to sit and contemplate in the midst of a long drive. These topiary were at Longview.
