We had a nice walk around the Oak Openings area yesterday. The floral highlight may have been goat's-rue, Tephrosia virginiana. They were blooming in profusion in several spots. They're very pretty, particularly from a little distance. I've sorted through a lot of goat's-rue flowers and have yet to find any without flaws. These two, even with a couple of bites and spots, are as close as I've come. That pink and white (often off white) combo attracts a lot of attention from all sorts of hungry critters.
