Royalty

The pink pyrolas were blooming at the first place we stopped that day, and in many others. But at that first spot, the main objective was the showy ladyslippers. There were many of these Cypripedium reginae - queen's slippers - in bloom. The plants can be close to three feet tall, with flowers up to six inches across. They certainly set the standard for ladyslippers.
