Grasspinks were the other small pink orchid we saw on the trip north. Always fun to see these right-side up flowers. Most orchids rotate 180 degrees as they open. Grass pinks don't, so they have the lip at the top. A very clever design! The lip flexes, so that when a pollinator lands on it, it flops down. Below the lip is that strapt-shaped pistil, waiting to be dusted with pollen carried from another flower.
