Yesterday was a terrific walk around a floodplain woods near here. The hope was to find winged monkeyflowers, a very rare threatened species in Michigan. They were seen four years ago a couple miles downstream. But now the new owner there has the all time record for nasty, and I'm not allowed in. Yesterday's person now has the all time record for best. Sorry that I had to decline her invite to supper! There were hundreds of monkeys, scattered along a half mile stretch of creek. More downstream? That's for another visit.
