It's not unusual that I shoot an image of a flower without knowing if it is something new or different. At Lynx Prairie I was hoping to have a chance to do that with thoroughworts. The Ohio group had heard that Godfrey's thoroughwort had been found there. None of us had a clue how it differed from other thoroughworts. We were hoping to spot a thoroughwort that just looked different. We didn't. It turns out that Godfrey looks a lot like this white snakeroot, but with shorter petioles and slightly more narrow flowers heads. It was probably done blooming anyway. Next time we will be ready for Godfrey.
