These hairy goldenrods (Solidago hispida) were blooming at our last stop last Saturday. After everyone else was gone, I kept shooting. Then it was time to turn around and head out. That roadside looked solid! Turned out I was just speculating again. I've been too old fashioned, and I really like maps, so no Onstar. And in the hills and valleys of Shawnee State Forest, there sure aren't any cell signals. About four hours of walking, begging a phone call, and waiting for help to get pulled back from the brink. Four hours when I could shoot some more! And I've got to get back there next year to see what some of those seeding plants look like in bloom! I'm speculating that there are some real beauties. And I will have Onstar!
